Nyman is the owner of the dog, Kaxe Nyman, who has co-starred with her several times, for example, in the film Svinet (1995).

A heavy smoker, at the time of her death from pancreatic cancer, Nyman was also suffering from emphysema and Guillain-Barré syndrome.

She studied at the National Theater School of Sweden in Stockholm, Sweden.

Has been one of Sweden's leading ladies on the stage for nearly 30 years, as an actress and a comedian.
