Eille Norwood(1861-1948)

His father wanted him to go into law, but Eille wanted to act. To keep the peace, he changed his name and made his stage debut in a troupe led by Basil Rathbone's uncle. Eille wrote a play, Hook and Eye, and made his stage debut in March 1887 at the Grand Leeds. He later toured America and Canada. In 1911, he made his film debut in Princess Clementina. He made 45 shorts and 2 films as Sherlock Holmes between 1921 and 1923.
