- Father of Robert Norin and John Norin.
- Created or supervised the cosmetic and prosthetic makeup for, according to his own estimates, over 700 films and television programs in his 60-year career. He learned the art of screen makeup with his father in Sweden in the 1920s, and then emigrated with his family to America.
- Began his career under his father, Josef Norin, a prestigious lab supervisor and head sculptor. He started as a prosthetic technician, working with his father in creating the prestigious for The Wizard of Oz (1939).
