  • Feroz Nizami was born in 1916 in Lahore,Pakistan. He belonged to a family well-versed in the art of music.After completing his basic education,he started working for All India Radio and worked at its Lahore,Delhi and Lucknow radio stations. He also took his music training from Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan of Lahore. Then he decided to move to Bombay to exhibit his talent as a music composer.Feroz Nizami had enormous amount of range in his compositions,from classical to semi-classical,thumries to western music; he used all of them. His big breakthrough film was producer-director Shaukat Hussain Rizvi's Jugnu (1947) starring Noor Jehan.It turned out to be a musical super-hit film due to Feroz Nizami's superb music. "Yahan Badla Wafa Ka Bewafai Ke Siwa Kya Hai"-this film song was sung by Noor Jehan and Mohammad Rafi. Rafi tasted fame first time in his life, as this song became very popular.Most of the songs in this film were sung by Noor Jehan and became run-away super-hits in 1947. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947,Feroz Nizami migrated to Pakistan and composed film songs in a Punjabi film Chanway (1951). Then came film Dopatta (1952) which also was a highly successful super-hit musical film. Many people say that'Feroz Nizami' music and Noor Jehan vocals used to blend in with each other and become one big melody and flow like waves in a river. Feroz Nizami died on 15 November 1975 at age 59 in Lahore,Pakistan after a very successful career.
