  • Ron Ninio is an award-winning film, television, and theater director and show runner. He was born in New York and grew up in Tel Aviv. He first began directing films in high school, and went on to study film and television at Hunter College and NYU. In the television arena, Ninio is known for co-creating, directing, and serving as show runner on the original "Your Honor" (2017-2019, co-created with Shlomo Mashiach). The series won the Best Series award at the international Series Mania festival, and is being shown on Amazon Prime Video. The series has emerged as one of the most successful scripted formats in the world, and was acquired for a remake in the U.S. by Showtime starring Brian Cranston. "Your Honor'' remakes include: Germany, Italy, France, India, Turkey, Russia with additional versions in the works in South Korea and Spain. Ninio also co-created, directed, and served as show runner on a number of award winning drama series including: "Arab Labour," "A Touch Away," and "Reaching The Sky." In addition, he directed the dramas "Parents and Sons" and "Dorit." Ninio is also an accomplished film director. His credits include: "The Quarry," "Auditions," and his autobiographical feature "There Were Nights," which he wrote and directed. The film won the Best Actress Award at the Haifa Festival and was nominated for 8 Israeli Film & TV Academy awards, including Best Writer and Director. In addition, Ninio directed the documentary films "Kozaltchik" and "Mikeshina." Ninio has also directed a number of award-winning theater plays and musical shows at the most prestigious theaters in Israel. He served as the Artistic Director of The Acre Festival of Fringe Theater where thirty plays were staged, some of which continued to play for a long time after the festival was over. In 2021 Ninio was the recipient of the Ministry of Education and Culture's Artists Award.
