- Siegmund Nimsgern was born on January 14, 1940 in St Wendel, Saarland, Germany. He was an actor, known for Les contes d'Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann) (1981), Nabucco (1977) and Bach: Matthäus-Passion (1971). He died on September 14, 2025 in Sankt Ingbert, Germany.

- Nimsgern sang at La Scala in Milan, at Covent Garden in London, at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and at the Vienna State Opera.
- Siegmund Nimsgern studied singing and musical education at the Hochschule für Musik Saar with Sibylle Fuchs, Jakob Stämpfli and Paul Lohmann, and he made his debut at the Saarland State Theatre in 1967.
