Biography

Michalis Nikolopoulos was a Greek actor and director whose career was closely linked to the stage and to the tradition of Greek theatrical performance. Raised in Patras, he later studied acting at the School of the Hellenic Conservatory in Athens, where he developed the foundation for his professional work in theatre. He became known not only as a performer and director but also as an active figure in theatrical organization and company leadership, taking on the responsibilities of troupe management as both an impresario and co-leader. A significant part of his artistic life was shared with fellow actress Mary Myrat, to whom he was married, and with whom he maintained an important professional partnership as well. His career reflects the model of an earlier generation of Greek theatre artists whose work extended beyond acting alone into direction, company life, and the practical sustaining of the stage.
