Biography

Tatyana Nikitina (maiden name Tatyana Sadykova) is born in Tajikistan. In 1960 she has graduated the class of phyisics in Mocsow State University where she sang in the student vocal ensemble lead by Sergey Nikitin. She was "his best and most talented pupil". The couple married. During 1960's-1980's Sergei Nikitin and Tatyana worked in a physucal science institute, sang Sergei Nikitin' songs and became ones of the most renown Russian bards. During the 1990's they became professional bards.

Tatyana Nikitina is a Soviet and Russian singer-songwriter. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

From an early age, Tatyana demonstrated a talent for music and the exact sciences. She then became a student in the Physics Department at Moscow State University. She actively participated in amateur performances and was a member of the Physics Department's team.

In 1967, she became a member of a quintet of physics students, formed by her future husband and stage partner, Sergey Nikitin. They performed with the quintet until 1977. While working with the quintet, they began performing as a duet with Sergey Nikitin. By the early 1970s, Tatyana and Sergey had formed a family performing duo, gaining acclaim from audiences and winning awards at art song festivals.

Tatyana Nikitina's voice can be heard in several films, including the legendary Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears (1980). She also played several film roles.

From 1992 to 1994, she served as Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.
