Biography

Talgat Nigmatulin was born on March 5, 1949 in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR, USSR [now Uzbekistan]. He was an actor and writer, known for Pirates of the 20th Century (1980), Odin i bez oruzhiya (1984) and Vstrechi i rasstavaniya (1973). He was married to Larissa Kandalova, Halima Hasanova and Venera Nigmatulina. He died on February 11, 1985 in Vilnius, Lithuanian SSR, USSR [now Lithuania].

Murdered by the leaders of the quasi-religious sect he was a member of, Abai Borubayev and Mirza Kymbatbayev. Borubayev and Kymbatbayev were sentenced to 14 and 10 years of prison for murder, respectively.

In order to improve his knowledge of Russian language he copied "War and Peace" of Leo Tolstoy literally by twice re-writing the entire novel by hand.

He was interested in different aspects of cinematography, particularly in writing scenarios for short movies and animation, as well as writing poems and inspiring stories.
