Biography

Syd Nicholls was born on December 20, 1896 in Frederick Henry Bay, Tasmania, Australia. He was a writer, known for His Convict Bride (1918), Queen of the Turf (1921) and On Our Selection (1920). He died on June 3, 1977 in Potts Point, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Created the comic strip Fatty Finn, which first appeared in the Sydney Sunday News on 16 September 1923 as Fat and His Friends.

Committed suicide by jumping from a tenth floor balcony.
