Biography

Theodore Newton was born on August 4, 1904 in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, USA. He was an actor, known for The Sphinx (1933), Jalna (1935) and The World Changes (1933). He was married to Emily Lawrence and Alexandrina (Drina) Hill. He died on February 28, 1963 in Hollywood, California, USA.

His second son, Christopher Hill Newton, died at six (6) months of age in 1940.

Wavy-haired American actor, in second leads for Warner Brothers from 1933. Later appeared in B-pictures at Monogram and RKO, before resuming theatrical work in 1935. Prolific on Broadway from 1928, including the long-running hit plays "Dead End" (1935-1937) and "The Man Who Came to Dinner" (1939-1941). After ten years, returned to the screen in character parts, often as authority figures.
