Biography

Robert F. Newmyer was born on May 30, 1956 in Washington, District of Columbia, USA. He was a producer and actor, known for Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991) and National Security (2003). He was married to Deborah Jelin Newmyer. He died on December 12, 2005 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

A rarity in Hollywood, he was a well connected producer who managed to straddle the worlds of studio pictures and independent film.

An asthma attack while working out at a Toronto gym triggered his fatal heart attack at age 49.

Was vice-president of production and acquisitions at Columbia Pictures, before forming "Outlaw Productions" with Jeffrey Silver in the late 1980s.

Children: Sofi, Teddy, James and Billi.
