- Daphne Neville, now aged 88, is at Denville Hall, the retirement home for actors and industry professionals near Pinewood Studios just outside London. She recently appeared in 'The Repair Shop Christmas Special' with Dame Helen Mirren who last worked with her on the police series 'Prime Suspect'. Daphne is keen to continue acting and loves to appear on film, if only in the background. Having been at RADA in the 1950s, she married and had three little girls before she working as a newsreader and continuity announcer for Harlech Television. She presented her own daily children's program, 'It's Time For Me', and a bi-weekly afternoon magazine show with Jan Leeming. Although attracting attention for appearing on reality TV such as 'Come Dine With Me', 'Obsessive Cleaners' and a hilarious episode of 'Beat the Chef', Daphne has loved working on costume dramas including 'The Old Curiosity Shop', 'Feast of July', Summer in February', 'Amazing Grace' and 'The Phoenix and the Carpet'. She has worked tirelessly in otter conservation, appearing with her tame otters on about 40 different news and TV programs and working on the movie 'Scottish Mussel', and drama series 'My Family and Other Animals'.
