Jimmy Nervo

A member of "The Crazy Gang" of popular WWII comedians. Partner to Teddy Knox
Diminutive comedian and acrobatic dancer. His father and grandfather were circus owners and Jimmy was trained from childhood to perform on the high wire as one of the 'Four Holloways'. He later joined Fred Karno's comedy troupe, teaming up with Teddy Knox from 1919.
Started by assisting his father in a wire walking act and later a juggler and a female impersonator before joining comedian Jimmy Nervo and forming the duo Nervo and Knox and later becoming part of The Crazy Gang.
His real name was James Henry Holloway , he was born in the Dalston district of London and was in a wire act with his father.
His real surname was Holloway.
He took his stage name from an American strip cartoon.
He had a brother, George, who was a wire walker.
