Elimu (pronounced E-lee-moo) meaning Knowledge and education in Swahili, born in Orange, NJ and raised in Milton, Mass excelled in basketball and soccer at an early age and received numerous scholarships offers for both sports while in high school. He opted to attend Syracuse University where he was the first walk-on to play in the first half of a game and ultimately earned a scholarship and was a valuable member of the FINAL FOUR team that played against Kentucky in the Championship Game. Elimu graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication, with a concentration in African American Studies and Spanish. Elimu has amassed an impressive amount of Film and Television credits to date. Credits ranging from his role as heartthrob ‘Dru Hilton’ in the Warner Bros hit film Love Don’t Cost A Thing, to guest appearances on 911 Lone-Star, Tommy, The Rookie, Station 19, a heavy recurring role on the NBC Pilot Suspicion (aka No Way Back) starring Derek Luke, to the deeply heartfelt performance of ‘Wes’, the EMT who loses his partner to an unfortunate accident in FOX’S hit show The Resident. Elimu continues to light up the screen big and small. Elimu also had a recurring arc in Freeform’s hit show Good Trouble, the Film ‘88’ a Samuel Goldwyn Political Thriller (Tribeca Film Festival) opposite Naturi Naughton as ‘Jose Gutierrez’, an ex-convict looking for a second chance at life, and also in the South By Southwest TV Spotlight show, Shatter Belt, opposite Abigail Spencer as ‘Vance’ in the episode PEARLS as well as a scene stealing role opposite Taye Diggs, in The Lifetime film FOREVER starring Taye Diggs and Megan Good. When not on set, you will find Elimu deeply committed to his private basketball coaching business where he mentors and elevates players of all ages into stars of the future. He’s also an avid student of boxing in which he trains 3/5 times weekly. And most importantly he’s a father that loves spending time with and raising his son.
