Mother of Rosalind Blessed.

She first met Brian Blessed in a television drama Double Agent (1969), then they met again four years later when they were making the television series Boy Dominic (1974). They lived together until their daughter Rosalind was four, then they married.

An avid supporter of Liverpool F.C..

Her second husband was a teacher named John.

In her earliest screen appearance, in Julius Caesar (1963), Hildegard Neil played Calpurnia, Julius Caesar's wife. In Antony and Cleopatra (1972) she played Cleopatra, Caesar's most famous mistress.

Spent a season at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
