- Pittsburgh native Elsie Neal (nee Parr) was born in 1931. She owned and operated the Neighborhood Craft Shop on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (1968). Elsie was full of creative ideas and her shop was packed with numerous raw materials. She frequently asked Fred Rogers to join her in a simple craft project involving children. Elsie also regularly hosted the neighbors or other guests who would share their own craft talents. In one section of her craft shop, there was a variety of masks and costumes. Neighbors would generously borrow them for very special events throughout that public television series.
