Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Julie began her classical training at the Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Music, and later studied privately at the New England Conservatory of Music. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University, and a Master's in Clinical Psychology from the Phillips Graduate Institute. She is also a marriage and family therapist with a part-time private practice.
