Biography

  • Brian crossed paths in Seth Rogen's feature American Pickle and worked opposite Garcelle Beauvais in the film Lalo's House as he negotiates with her as a human trafficking business man. You may have seen Brian as the bank manager opposite Christina Applegate in "Grand Theft Parsons." A chameleon who has the ability to transform into a variety of roles: restaurant owners, Italian clothing designer, lawyers, (all on his demo reel) hospital patients, detectives (Sleeper Cell), law enforcement officers, etc... His specialty is "everyman" roles, men with humor and heart and if need be a spot on dialect. He confesses to a profound love of the "live theater" experience. Brian and his wife Angela Watson (from the 90's ABC hit sitcom "Step by Step", just finished working together on stage the Tony Award winning play, "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime!"

Born and raised in Indiana, Brian was the second youngest of ten children. His desire to entertain was firmly rooted with a built in audience that clamored for more from the almost youngest child. Boundless energy and an uncanny ability to imitate made him the darling of the family and the Midwest neighborhood.

A career in acting and teaching was not only inevitable, it was nearly ordained.

Blessed with gifts of quick wit and strong improvisational skills, Brian has a natural ability to speak and connect with others. Additionally, his knack for accents and dialects has surprised some casting directors and has lead him to booking jobs and in some instances has cast a wider net of possibilities during auditions.

"The creative process where passion, imagination and life experience merge with what information is given in the script is a real journey. The joy is to leave no stone unturned in finding truth and believability in the life of the character."

Brian's acting journey began after he moved to Los Angeles in 1990! Working as an advertising executive by day while taking acting classes at night. With little training but plenty of natural aptitude, he was hired for small roles on General Hospital and a made for TV movie, RIOT, as the flamboyant clothing designer Franco. One day early on in his acting training he was "caught" watching The Oprah Winfrey Show and while slightly embarrassed and defensive he apologetically reasoned: "How else am I going to understand women?" While watching the Oprah Show he witnessed a number of actors speaking highly of their great acting coach, Milton Katselas. With an unyielding desire to "dig deeper" into his acting, Brian sought out The Beverly Hills Playhouse so he too could work with this "master teacher." Brian's first day of class was a dramatic bonanza - he was in the advanced class and actor extraordinaire Jeffrey Tambor and Milton Katselas were the teachers. His acting path was cemented. He found the place where he would be inspired and challenged and be part of a stimulating and richly fulfilling acting community. In the last five years of Milton's life, Brian had the privilege of being invited to work in the Master Class exclusively.
