An Egyptian actor and writer who was known for playing secondary roles such as the kind-hearted man, doorman, servant, or janitor, and sometimes the lighthearted, naïve character. He worked in theater before moving into cinema. He also contributed to writing the screenplays of several films. He appeared in more than 300 films which spanned over 4 decades.
