Biography

Nicolas Nabokov was born on April 17, 1903 in Lyubcha, Minsk Governorate, Russian Empire [now Lubcha, Belarus]. He was a composer, known for Paulina 1880 (1972), Suzanne Farrell: Elusive Muse (1996) and Afternoon of a Faun: Tanaquil Le Clercq (2013). He was married to Dominique Cibiel, Patricia Blake, Natalia Shakhovskaya and Constance Holladay. He died on April 6, 1978 in New York City, New York, USA.

His cousin was Vladimir Nabokov and is the father of Ivan Nabokov.

He was the secretary general of the Congress for Cultural Freedom.
