Biography

Peter Murton was born on September 24, 1924 in Paddington, London, England, UK. He was a production designer and art director, known for Thunderball (1965), Stargate (1994) and Superman III (1983). He died in December 2009 in England, UK.

Son of fellow art director Walter W. Murton.

Worked on six films for James Bond producer Harry Saltzman, including three Bonds.

Transformed the private Oxfordshire village of Mapledurham into the fictional hamlet of Studley Constable, as seen in the film "The Eagle Has Landed".
