Ron Murphy began his career dreaming of making a movie while working as an assistant to the legendary comedy superstar John Candy. This led to directing multiple TV projects for The Second City including a special starring Steve Carell in his first TV role. He directed various other TV shows with casts including Leslie Neilson, Tim Conway, Amy Sedaris, Snoop Dog, Bryan Adams, Jann Arden, Sarah McLaughlin, K.D. Laing, Michael Bublé, as well as Michael Cera and Drake in their earliest TV appearances. In 2005, he shadowed Quentin Tarantino on the season finale of CSI, and that same year, he won an International Emmy Award for producing Dark Oracle. He has produced over 80 episodes and directed over 270 episodes of TV with multiple Best Director nominations. Directing credits include Trailer Park Boys, Heartland, Lost Girl, Dark Matter, and Wynonna Earp. And, finally, after this bit of practice, he felt ready to make his first feature film, Back In Black, starring Jane Curtin & Christopher Walken.
