- Henri Murger was born on March 27, 1822 in Paris, France. He was a writer, known for La Bohème (1926), La Bohème (2010) and The Bohemian Life (1992). He died on January 28, 1861 in Paris, France.
- Though it is popularly known that Jonathan Larson modeled "Rent" after "La Bohéme", he also read Murger's original novel "Scenes de la Vie Bohéme", on which "La Bohéme" was based, for inspiration. The original title reappears as the name of a song, "La Vie Boheme".
