  • His career in films ran parallel to Dilip Kumar. Both of them were in school together, making their debut with the Bombay Talkies film Pratima, also the directorial debut of actor P. Jairaj.
  • In 1982, Mukri was directing a film titled "Mastan" that was a autobiographical film based on Mumbai underworld gangster Haji Mastan. Haji Mastan was also acting in the film playing himself. The film was shelved after 3 months due to Hajio Mastan changing his mind.
