- Joy Mukherjee was born on February 24, 1939 in Jhansi, United Provinces, British India. He was an actor and director, known for Humsaya (1968), Chhailla Babu (1977) and Door Ki Awaz (1964). He was married to Neelam Mukherjee. He died on March 9, 2012 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

- Joy Mukherjee directed 4 films but his only successful directorial venture was 1977 film Chhailla Babu starring Superstar Rajesh Khanna in the title role. The suspense thriller was a golden jubilee hit.
