Mark Mueller is a two-time Emmy nominee for Best Song and a two-time ASCAP award-winning pop songwriter best known for writing both words and music for two classic Disney animated show theme songs, "DuckTales" and "Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers." His songs were featured on the original series as well as the "DuckTales" 2017 reboot and the Emmy-winning "Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers" 2022 television film. "Vanity Fair" magazine called Mueller’s "DuckTales" theme song "History’s catchiest single minute of music."
In "Billboard" magazine’s rankings of "The 100 Greatest Disneyverse Songs of All Time," a list commemorating the top songs of the studio’s first 100 years including music from its films, television shows, Broadway shows and theme parks, the "DuckTales" Theme Song was ranked #19 and the "Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers" Theme Song was #63.
Mark received his two Emmy nominations in the Best Song category for the ABC series "Life Goes On," starring Patti LuPone, and the NBC series "Quincy, M.E.,"starring Jack Klugman. His songs on those shows were sung by Leon Redbone and Anita Gillette. He co-wrote "The Next Dream," which was performed by Tony-winner Bernadette Peters on Carol Burnett’s NBC series "Carol & Company." He was co-writer, co-songwriter and Executive Producer of an all-sung CBS pilot titled "Shangri-La Plaza," which "Los Angeles" Magazine called "The Star-Studded All-Musical Sitcom Time Forgot." The musical’s cast included Tony-nominee Terrence Mann, Oscar-winner Chris Sarandon, NBC’s The Office star Melora Hardin and Tony-winning choreographer Savion Glover.
His songs have been featured in films including "The Last Starfighter," "One Hour Photo," "Pokemon: The Movie," "Money Talks," "BAPS," "National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation" and "Adventures in Babysitting," for which he co-wrote the song "Babysitting Blues," sung by its star, Elisabeth Shue.
Mueller’s three Billboard Top Ten singles on its "Hot 100" chart include "Crush" by Jennifer Paige, which was #3 for four weeks and "That's What Love Is For" by Amy Grant, which reached #7 and was a #1 Billboard Adult Contemporary hit for three weeks. He also wrote both words and music for "Nothin’ At All" by Heart, which peaked at #10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and #6 on its Mainstream Rock chart. "Crush" was #2 on the R&R Top 40 airplay chart while "That's What Love Is For" reached #4 on the same chart. Internationally, "Crush" hit #1 on the United World Chart and also went to #1 in the UK, Canada, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.

He also co-wrote the book and composed nine original songs for an Off-Broadway musical titled "How the Hell Did I Get Here?" with actress Lesley Nicol, who portrayed Mrs. Patmore on six seasons of TV’s Emmy and BAFTA-winning series "Downton Abbey" and reprised the role in 3 successful films. Their musical was nominated for an Off-Broadway Alliance Award after only 10 performances and was also produced in London, Hong Kong and Chicago.
Mueller grew up near Palo Alto, California and received a B.A. from the University of California in Berkeley. He resides in Los Angeles.
