- Sławomir Mrożek was born on June 29, 1930 in Borzecin, Malopolskie, Poland. He was a writer and director, known for Kalosze szczescia (1958), Tango and Teatr Polskiego Radia (1952). He was married to Susana Osorio Rosas and Maria Obremba. He died on August 15, 2013 in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes, France.

- He was widely considered to be Poland's leading 20th-century playwright. He wrote allegorical plays which lampooned the political and social mores of the postwar Eastern bloc nations. His work is often compared to that of Romanian playwright Eugène Ionesco.
