Parallel to acting, Mora built a strong reputation as a musician, and was a Founder/member of Son del Pueblo and later led the María Canela orchestra. He performs genres like salsa, son cubano, Latin pop, and rock. He also represented Colombia at the OTI Festival (1995). His song "Canela" became one of his most recognized tracks in Colombia.
