Biography

Brian Moore was born on August 25, 1921 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. He was a writer and producer, known for Torn Curtain (1966), Black Robe (1991) and The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne (1987). He was married to Jean Denney and Jacqueline Scully. He died on January 11, 1999 in Malibu, California, USA.

One of 9 children of a surgeon, Brian Moore worked in British intelligence during WWII, although his Roman Catholic family was so anti-British, they allegedly supported the Germans.

Journalist, novelist and screenwriter. Born in Northern Ireland, he emigrated to Canada in 1948, worked for the Montreal Gazette and became a Canadian citizen. He wrote some of his novels under the pseudonyms Bernard Mara and Michael Bryan. His works usually feature Irish protagonists and are often concerned with Catholic dogma.
