Sandra Montiel, ACE is a prominent film and television editor recognized for her sharp narrative instincts, versatile pacing, and mastery of both comedy and drama with projects including features, streaming, and episodic television. Driven by a lifelong fascination with how a script translates into a compelling visual journey, she views the cutting room as the ultimate crucible for creativity, collaboration and storytelling.

A graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, Sandra’s multicultural background - born in Peru and fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and French - lends a global perspective to her work, making her a highly sought-after partner for filmmakers navigating diverse themes.

In 2022, she received an ACE Eddie nomination in the Non-Theatrical Feature category for the movie Kate, starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson. Sandra’s more recent editing work includes Andy Garcia's feature film Diamond, which made its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2026. The project was well-received by critics, and Sandra attended the prestigious festival in France to support the movie's debut.

Her prominent feature portfolio also includes the romantic-comedy The Valet (Hulu) and Netflix's Uncorked, as well as additional editor on Lionsgate's About My Father, starring Robert De Niro. Her extensive work in television includes acclaimed projects such as Acapulco, Happy Endings, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Doctor, and Atypical, collaborating with industry icons like Lorne Michaels, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Prentice Penny. Sandra began her career as an assistant editor under visionary directors Paul Thomas Anderson (Punch-Drunk Love) and Roman Coppola (CQ).

In addition to being a proud member of ACE and serving on its Internship Committee, Sandra is a dedicated advocate for the next generation of post-production professionals, providing industry mentorship and education to aspiring filmmakers.
