Biography

Conchita Montenegro was born on September 11, 1911 in San Sebastián, Spain. She was an actress, known for The Woman and the Puppet (1929), Marido y mujer (1932) and Lola Montes (1944). She was married to Raul Roulien and Ricardo Giménez-Arnau. She died on April 22, 2007 in Madrid, Madrid, Spain.

Sultry Spanish model, actress and dancer, a performer from childhood and in films from 1927. Previously on stage with the touring Fanchon & Marco dance troupe. Came to Hollywood under contract to MGM in 1930, but within a year moved over to Fox where she made several films as exotic second leads or south-of-the-border senoritas. Retired after starring in the title role of legendary dancer Lola Montes (1944).

Regarded as having had a significant influence on the development of modern Spanish dance.

Her hobby was collecting dolls and stuffed toy animals.
