Sharon Monsky(1953-2002)
Sharon Monsky was diagnosed with a little known, life threatening
disease scleroderma, a disease that afflicts mostly women. It hardens
the skin and compromises the internal organs. She spent the last 16
years of her life as an activist, raising millions of dollars to fund
research to find a cure. She had a cameo as herself in the TV movie
For Hope (1996).
