Biography

Appreciated literature since she was a teenager, and, at the age of fifteen, she was fascinated by The River, by Jean Renoir, thus giving birth to her vocation for storytelling through cinema.

To pave the way for future filmmakers, she founded in 2006 the Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media (CIMA), of which she was Honorary President.

Managed to graduate in 1969 in Management, the first woman to achieve that merit in the EOC. She combined her studies with her work as a director's assistant at Televisión Española, until 1968.

Film and theater director, screenwriter, television director and novelist.

Received the Goya de Honor in 2012, being the first female film director to take it.
