- Oliver Mlakar was born on July 1, 1935 in Ptuj, Slovenia. He is an actor, known for Usporeno kretanje (1979), Auto trubi, mi smo rodoljubi (1972) and Smogovci (1982).

- One of the most famous show hosts in the ex-Yugoslavia (up to 1991), and probably the best-loved among them. The show that brought him country-wide fame was the extremely popular quiz show "Kviskoteka", in the 1970s.
- He is one of 9 presenters to host and commentate on the Eurovision Song Contest. The others are Terry Wogan, Léon Zitrone, Pat Kenny, Lolita Morena, Pavlo Shylko, Leyla Aliyeva, Harald Treutiger and Jaana Pelkonen.
