- Wolf Mittler was born on January 1, 1918. He was an actor and director, known for Co-Pilot Mutesius- Ein Weg vom Flugschüler zum Verkehrspiloten (1965), Der letzte Appell (1939) and Von der Spree zu den Alpen und zur See - Eine Flugreise mit Gästen (1963). He died on November 11, 2002 in Munich, Germany.
- Later in his career he spoke the traffic information for German radio Bayern 3.
- During his career broadcasting for Germany Calling, Mittler was reported to find political matters distasteful, and was eventually replaced by Norman Baillie-Stewart (a former British spy for Nazi Germany).
- In 1943, Mittler fell under suspicion and fled to Italy, where he was captured by the Gestapo, but managed to escape to Switzerland.
- He was a German radio host and journalist, known as one of the persons associated with the nickname Lord Haw-Haw.
- Mittler spoke nearly flawless English, as he had learnt it from his mother (who was born in Ireland to German parents) in childhood.
