Biography

Christopher Mitchell was born on May 21, 1948 in Surrey, England, UK. He was an actor, known for It Ain't Half Hot Mum (1974), Emmerdale Farm (1972) and What's Up Superdoc! (1978). He died on February 22, 2001 in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England, UK.

Following the end of It Ain't Half Hot Mum (1974), his career went into an irreversible decline and he found only occasional and diminishing small TV and theatre roles. As a result, he developed a serious alcohol dependency and died of related liver disease at the age of just 52.

Son of actor Norman Mitchell.

Had a younger sister, Jacqueline (b. 1955).

After, "It ain't Half Hot Mum", he was probably best known for the small supporting role of PC/Detective "Terry Hoskins" in two episodes of Only Fools and Horses: May the Force be with You in 1983 and the 1985 Christmas special, "To Hull and Back".
