Biography

Ann Mitchell was born on April 22, 1939 in Stepney, London, England, UK. She is an actress, known for The Deep Blue Sea (2011), Widows (2018) and Lady Chatterley's Lover (1981). She was previously married to Rob Walker and William Chiles.

Ann is on the Board of Directors of the Equity Trust Fund, The Unity Theatre Trust, and is a Patron of Clean Break, a theatre & training company for ex-female offenders, and of The Landmark, an HIV and AIDS trust.

She was nominated for a 2003 London Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Actress for her performance in Through the Leaves performed at the Duchess Theatre.

She was nominated for a 2004 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Actress of 2003 for her performance in "Through the Leaves" at the Duchess Theatre.

Has played Jo Joyner's mother twice; on EastEnders (1985) and For Her Sins (2023).
