Lived in Zushi, Kanagawa with his wife.

Sleeping only three hours a night, he use to drink a 50-50 mixture of tomato juice and beer to stay healthy.

Besides being Japan's busiest TV host, he was the president of "Nikokku", a company specialized in manufacture and sale of water meters.

Japanese TV presenter, setting the Guinness World Record for the television host who appeared live, 21 hours and 42 minutes across 11 shows, during a week (28 November 2006).

At the height of his popularity, he had 16 regular TV shows, but he had left television work.

On his country: "Everyone has the capacity to do it, but the majority just don't want to, and that's a terrible waste. Japan used to be known as a land of hard workers. Now it's just the opposite."
