Caught the show biz bug early as it interfered with his school work and his war time service which was spent in the navy, partly fighting and partly doing concert parties. A post war grant took him to university where to get a degree in languages but he left to sing full time. Over the years he was a school teacher, interpreter, yachtsman,, footballer and on Bkackpool's books and a cricket coach, he has a 20 acre property near Winston Churchill's home at Chartwell. He was married with 3 sons and had blue eyes and fair hair, In 1964 he was in She Loves Me in London;s West End and stopped the show on opening night and won the Variety Critics Award for Best Supporting Performance, but despite that it only ran for a few weeks He had a dramatic role in the film Gideon's Way did cabaret at London's Talk of the Town, had his own television series and made several records including the theme songs for the children;s television series Stingray and Thunderbirds.
