Douglas J. Miller’s recent film and television credits include a recurring role in the new Netflix series The Body (2026); a recurring role as an FBI Agent in The Art of More (2015) starring Dennis Quaid and Cary Elwes; Son of a Critch (2025) opposite Claire Rankin; Awakening the Zodiac (2017) starring Lesley Bibb; Designing Christmas (2022) alongside Jessica Szohr; The Sacrifice Game (2023) alongside Mena Massoud; She Never Died (2019) opposite Kiana Madeira; Evil Stepmother (2021) opposite Tara Spencer-Nairn; The Boarding School Murders (2024) opposite Christina Cox; a role as an American senator opposite Finn Wittrock in a pilot for an Untitled Witness Protection Series; and the iconic role of Dracula in Rise of the Mixed-Blood Queen (2024).

Douglas’s earliest film and television credits include The Hidden Room (1993) alongside Daphne Zuniga; Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1995) starring David Carradine; Spenser: A Savage Place (1995) starring Robert Urich; a guest-starring role in the TV series Liberty Street (1995); and a role in the vampire-themed TV series Forever Knight (1995). Douglas also played the lead role in the indie films Psycho Pike (1992) and Psycho Scarecrow (1996).

Douglas’s stage experience includes a Skylight Theatre production of Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night, directed by Lewis Baumander; over 400 performances as Giles Ralston in a long-running production of Agatha Christie’s play The Mousetrap; a production of Lanford Wilson’s two-character play Talley’s Folly at the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia; an Imago Theatre production of Ronald Harwood’s play The Dresser; and a production of the play Angel Square at the National Arts Centre, based on Brian Doyle’s novel that confronts the issue of racial hatred.

Douglas was also once the lead singer and songwriter for a rock ‘n’ roll band called The Fringe, which performed at nightclubs like the El Mocambo.

For 15 years, during which time a stage name conflict precluded him using his own last name, Douglas opted to use the last name of his maternal great-grandfather, James Freeman Kidd.
