  • Originally from Paterson, New Jersey, with a BFA from Manhattan's School of Visual Arts, Miller is a multiple award-winning film, television, content, commercial, documentary, live concert, and music video director, producer, screenwriter, editor, music producer, music supervisor, former film development exec, ex-Madison Ave ad agency creative director, and partner/founder at Desert C.A.M. Studios, a production and post-production company in Burbank, CA and in Phoenix, AZ. Miller is a recording artist with Brit-inspired alt rock band, Old Sand Mill. He studied briefly with Norman Rockwell and had an original painting on display at the Smithsonian Institute's Aerospace Division in Washington, DC for 15 years. He moved to Hollywood in the early 80's to pursue his film career. With a full development and production slate of high-profile feature films, TV programs, TV concert specials, and a live music series for 2026 through 2028, key projects include: "The Wanderer," a family friendly theatrical movie written and produced by Miller, to be directed by Kevin Sorbo set for late 2026. Miller just completed his authorized biopic script for "Extension of a Man: The Brief Life of Donny Hathaway" for a 2027 Desert C.A.M. Studios production. "Ride to Justice," an original indie action biker drama written by Miller goes into production in the Fall of 2026. Miller will direct the theatrical film for Lionsgate Films and Grind House Productions. He is also set to helm "The Butterfly and Goliath," a true story docudrama film set for early 2027. Miller co-wrote an original western, "The Californian," with actor Liam Neeson, which was first optioned by Clint Eastwood's Malpaso Films, then Penny Marshall's Parkway Pictures at Sony. The script was rebooted for a 2027 shoot in Canada. Neeson and Miller will co-produce. "Nobody Wrote It Down: True Tales of Black Pioneers," a documentary TV series was co-written by Miller with multiple Grammy-winning African American recording artist, Dom Flemons, who's hit 2019 Grammy nominated album, "Black Cowboys" served as inspiration for the program. "Zhohi Shoon-Kah," a theatrical motion picture screenplay from Miller is based on a story he co-wrote with award-winning Native American singer/songwriter and best-selling pop star, Jana Mashonee, originally developed as a series for Amazon Studios. "The True Tale of Bass Reeves," was a 2025 content feature film for major streaming platforms, and was also co-produced with Dom Flemons and Allen Plone for Desert C.A.M. Studios. "Golden Swan: A Harlem Journey," is a live action drama series based on the best-selling Double Day novel, "Harlem" by the late Len Riley. It was previously in development with Motown producer, Suzanne dePasse, but is now re-imagined at Desert C.A.M. Studios. Miller co-wrote the sci-fi comedy script, "Just Imagine If" with Allen Plone, based on the hit stage play, "The Marriage Zone" by Jeff Gould, scheduled for mid-2027. "The Great Silence of Harry Gleeson," is a true biopic about Ireland's first posthumous pardon of a man hanged for murder 75 years ago, and who was exonerated by the President of Ireland. Gleeson was Miller's 107-year-old Grandmother's younger brother. "Loudmouth: The Odyssey of Morton Downey, Jr.," is a content biopic originally developed at Fox TV Pictures/FX Channel, to be scripted by Miller. Also In development is the biopic, "Scotch and Soda: The Kingston Trio Story. The Trio is the 3rd best-selling artist in Capitol Records history, along with The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, and The Beatles. Miller directed four TV concert PBS specials with The Kingston Trio, a documentary, and numerous music videos, as well as captured the historic last performance of Bob Shane, the Trio's founder, who passed in 2020. Miller's 2026 script, "Life On A Fast Lane," a riveting biopic of former NJ bowling champion, Bob Perry, was developed with Oscar winning producer and founder of Jersey Films, Michael Shamberg, who will produce for MAS Productions and Desert C.A.M. Studios. Projected for a late 2026 shoot. Future projects on Miller's active slate include high-profile projects on legendary psychic Edgar Cayce; a biopic on The Mamas and The Papas (Miller originally developed the project with Michelle and the late John Phillips); and a biopic on rockabilly icon, Gene Vincent, originally developed with actor Nicolas Cage. Chip has directed 60 plus national commercials for clients like: CBS TV; Paramount Pictures; Filmways Pictures; Toyota; Kellogg's Corp; Kodak; Marriott Hotel Corp; Pepsi Corp feat. Eddie Murphy; Bob's Big Boy feat. Mike Myers; KIMN Radio feat. Rodney Dangerfield; Jergens Lotion feat. Lindsay Wagner; Jamaican Tourism; Tourism Ireland; Wrangler Jeans; Pizza Hut; IBM Corp; Levi's Cords feat. Steve Martin; MTV; Ford Motors; Progresso; Canada Dry; American Dairy Association; Becton Dickinson, and Schering-Plough Pharmaceutical. In addition, he directed and produced over a 160 music videos for major and indie recording artists of every genre, from rock, rap, pop, country, hip hop, r&b, jazz, dance, to EDM. He also helmed and produced over 65 TV live concert specials for HBO, BBC, Showtime, MTV, CMT, PBS, and FNX Channel with major artists like Marc Anthony, Diahann Carroll, Trini Lopez, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, Paul Simon, Donovan, The National Dance Company of Ireland, The Irish Tenors, and The Kingston Trio. As a film development executive at three indie production studios, Miller worked on, "Fire in The Sky," with James Garner, DB Sweeney, Robert Patrick, Peter Berg, & Henry Thomas; "Square Dance," with Jane Alexander, Jason Robards, Rob Lowe & Wynona Ryder; and "A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon," with River Phoenix, Ann Magnuson, Ione Skye & Matthew Perry. His many awards include: a Clio, two CMT Music Awards, three MTV2 Music Video Awards, an MTV Australia Music Video Award, four MTV Europe Music Video Awards, three Billboard Music Awards, Houston International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award, three National Accolade Awards, two Aegis Awards, two Danae Literary Awards, and a dozen awards as a professional illustrator and graphic designer. Memberships include: (WGAw) Writer's Guild of America west; (PGAw) Producers Guild of America; Academy of Television Arts & Sciences; and the Southern California Motion Picture Council. In addition he is a well published professional illustrator, author, and spoken word artist.
