  • Jerry Miley born Emmor Jerome Miley in Alameda in 1899, Tall. dark, handsome man who began as a character in drama, crime and comedy silent films with the Cosmopolitan Film Company first appeared in 'Wild Oats Lane' directed by Marshall Neilan in 1926, he was offered the starring role in his next film as Dennis Reilly under the direction of Edward Dillon and co-starring opposite Viola Dana in 'Bred in Old Kentucky' perhaps his only starring role, afterwards he was seen in character and sometimes supporting roles, from the advent of talkies he was offered only minor roles until his last film, a bit part in 'Les Miserables' in 1952. He suffered from alcoholic liver disease in later years and died of cardiac arrest at age 80 in Santa Barbara.
