Biography

Mikkilineni was born in 1918 in Kolavennu, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India. He was an actor, known for Mayabazar (1957), Palnati Yudham (1966) and Gandharvya Kanya (1979). He was married to Seetaratnam. He died on February 23, 2011 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Was arrested and sent to jail 5 times by the British Government for participating in various freedom movements like Quit India Movement, Telangana Revolution etc. Was a drama artist before joining films. Wife is also a drama artist. Was associated with Praja Natya Mandali. His literary work "Nata Ratnalu" was serialised in the weekly Andra Prabha and later published as a book. Held various positions in different cultural organizations like Andhra Nataka Kala Parishad, Sangeeta Nataka Academy, Praja Natya Mandali etc. Was awarded the title "Kala Prapoorna" by Andhra University.
