He was an art director and costume designer, known for Rivalen im Weltrekord (1930), Chu Chin Chow (1934) and The White Hell of Pitz Palu (1929). He died on September 25, 1953 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Trivia

  • Hungarian-born art director, a student at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts. Affiliated with the films of director G.W. Pabst in Germany during the 1920's, he was noted for his realistic sets for Westfront 1918 (1930) and Comradeship (1931). Forced to leave Germany, because of his Jewish origins, he subsequently worked in England (1934-37) and Hollywood (1941-47).
