Walter Merrill was born on April 22, 1906 in Bangor, Pennsylvania, USA. He was an actor and writer, known for Justice Takes a Holiday (1933), Parlor, Bedroom and Bath (1931) and While London Sleeps (1926). He was married to Julia Faye. He died on January 10, 1985 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

He married silent film star Julia Faye at the Church of the Angels in Pasadena, California. They planned to honeymoon in Mexico City. Cecil B. DeMille was present and gave the bride away. Frank Flynn was best man and Jane Marston Burgard, wife of actor Lawrence Tibbett, was matron of honor.
