Menshchikov gained genuine recognition from listeners for his Sunday poetry concerts, commissioned by the radio station " Moscow Speaks " (1999-2006).

His roles on the Vakhtangov stage were countless, more than a hundred of them, and in each one there was a piece of his soul and skill.

Anatoly Menshchikov's artistic career began at the Taganka Theatre, where he joined in 1967 as a seventeen-year-old stagehand. A year later, unexpectedly, he appeared on the legendary stage in Yuri Lyubimov's production of "Tartuffe" as Laurent, replacing an ailing actor. During those years, he also began compiling his first historical and biographical notes: lively sketches and a famous questionnaire, whose questions were answered by Vladimir Vysotsky, Valery Zolotukhin, Veniamin Smekhov, Leonid Filatov, Boris Khmelnitsky, and others.

Anatoliy Menshchikov was an actor of theater, radio, and television, also a master of artistic words, and a biographer and historian who was devoted to the Yevgeny Vakhtangov Theatre, where he served for 48 years.
