Carol lived in Washington, DC for three years, from 1973 -1976, while she attended The National Law Center at the George Washington University. Carol graduated and received her Juris Doctor Degree from GWU in May 1976. At law school, Carol was known as a very bright student, with a big smile and a friendly, upbeat personality. She was very well-regarded by her classmates and the faculty.

Carol Mendelsohn was the Showrunner/Executive Producer of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation from the pilot episode through season 14. The show ran for 16 seasons and was ranked number one in scripted drama series on television. She was also a Co-Creator/Executive Producer of CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.

As a producer, she has been nominated for multiple Emmys; WGA Awards; Golden Globes; Producers Guild Awards and the prestigious Edgar Allen Poe Award. Additionally, she is a three-time People's Choice Award Winner.
