Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana and participated in community theater as volunteer stage crew through high school. Attended Northwestern University 1976-80 and produced plays and musicals at the student theater level all four years there. Moved to Los Angeles in 1980 and worked as a location manager and assistant director until retirement in 2020.
