  • George Memmoli was born on August 3, 1938 in Queens, New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor, known for Mean Streets (1973), Phantom of the Paradise (1974) and Rocky (1976). He died on May 20, 1985 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

  • Was a member of the comedy troupe "Ace Trucking Company" along with Patti Deutsch, Michael Mislove, Bill Saluga, Fred Willard, and others.
  • Because of injuries sustained in an accident during the production of the movie The Farmer (1977), Memmoli had to decline the role of the disturbed passenger in Taxi Driver (1976) that was ultimately played by the film's director Martin Scorsese. It was reported that the accident injury played a part in his death.
  • George was a bartender and intermission vibraphone player at the Tunetimers Club in Queens, New York City in the early 1960s. The Tunetimers would play in Las Vegas, Nevada as a lounge act for many years.
  • During filming of The Farmer in Atlanta in September and October of 1975, Memmoli sustained a skull fracture while doing a stunt and was hospitalized for three months. Memmoli claimed that although he had lost much weight and was about 190 lbs at the time of the accident, after a total of six months convalescence, he put on previous weight and ballooned to over 350 lbs.
  • Lived with actress Kathi McGinnis for several years. Both were acquaintances of director Martin Scorsese since the early 1970s.
